Meet the Calvary Healing Center Staff
Michael McFarland, LMSW
Chief Executive Officer
Mike McFarland is an established leader with more than 28 years of dedicated service in the behavioral health arena. His experience ranges from leading inpatient behavioral health facilities to outpatient treatment clinics, as well as management of regional facility teams. Mike joined the UHS team at Calvary as CEO in May of 2023.
Mike is committed to the patient experience, ensuring high standards and quality outcomes, transparency with stakeholders, and overall culture development for the teams he is accountable for. As a licensed social worker, Mike is committed to sound clinical programming and abatement of symptoms that impact those he serves.
Mike and his wife have three children and are very active in their community and church through various groups and associations. He enjoys spending time with family, especially at the beach.
Bryan Evenson
Director of Business Development
Bryan Evenson joined UHS in December 2015. Born in San Francisco and raised in Everett, Washington and Scottsdale, Arizona, Bryan pursued studies in art, business and architecture in Arizona. In September 2022, Bryan was appointed Director of Business Development at Calvary after holding various roles across multiple departments, including at a Level I psychiatric facility.
His experience spans a wide range of positions: BHT, Lead BHT, Intake Specialist, Utilization Review, Lead Intake Coordinator, Community Liaison, and Director of Business Development. Bryan leverages his expertise to support potential patients and their families, utilizing his deep understanding of substance use disorders and psychiatric care. His ability to build strong connections with providers, facilities, and organizations fosters collaboration at all levels of care, ensuring seamless coordination with referral sources and community partners.
A deep sense of purpose drives Bryan’s commitment to substance use disorder and behavioral healthcare. He is passionate about supporting his staff, empowering them to deliver high-quality patient care. Bryan leads with integrity, compassion and determination, striving to be the kind of leader he would want to follow.
Bryan and his wife have three grown children and currently live in Scottsdale. In his free time, he values time with family, working as a freelance artist, indulging his enthusiasm for sports, the outdoors and world travel with his wife.
Robert Halligan
Medical Director
Dr. Robert Halligan, Medical Director at Calvary Healing Center, brings over 25 years of dedicated experience in addiction medicine, complementing his extensive background in internal medicine and cardiology. Board-certified in Addiction Medicine since 2014 and Preventive Medicine since 2022, Dr. Halligan has been actively practicing addiction medicine since 1995. His clinical expertise uniquely positions him to understand the complexities of addiction and the critical need for timely, appropriate treatment. With a long-standing commitment to comprehensive patient care, he advocates evidence-based interventions that significantly improve health outcomes. Given his authoritative knowledge and clinical experience, Dr. Halligan strongly supports the necessity and medical appropriateness of the treatment provided, underscoring the importance of ensuring continuity of care and optimal recovery.
